Get Your Art Fix on the Hattiesburg Public Art Trail

Viewing art in person isn’t as easy as it used to be, but residents of Breckenridge Park apartments in Hattiesburg are in luck. Downtown Hattiesburg boasts the city’s Public Art Trail. It’s easy to enjoy outdoor art on the trail while staying socially distant.

In fact, we have gathered 3 local businesses you can visit on the public art trail in Hattiesburg.

T-Bones Records and Café

T-Bones Records and Cafe joined forces with Prince Sign Company to create the “Birthplace of Rock ‘N Roll” mural. The mural graces the side of T-Bones’ building. In addition, it honors the city’s role in creating the music genre that gained fame in the 1950s and 60s. While you’re in the area, order a sandwich for curbside delivery from T-Bones, then finish off your meal with one of their tasty Rice Krispies treats.

Moore’s Bike Shop

Moore’s Bike Shop in downtown Hattiesburg partnered with a local artist to create the “Ribbons and Wheels” mural on its building. The mural highlights the joys of the Hattiesburg Zoo as well as the Longleaf Trace bike trail. In fact, Moore’s encourages all their customers to enjoy biking the trail as a great way to lower stress.

Eureka School Museum

The Eureka School Museum honors the first school for African-Americans in our city. Learn about the school’s history safely by watching this local news segment about its conversion to a museum. Not far from the museum is the Sixth Street Museum District mural, an impressively large freestanding structure. Check it out next time you’re in the Mobile-Bouie neighborhood.

Finally, if you’re hungry after your walk along the Public Art Trail, make sure to grab some grub from a local restaurant when you’re done. Downtown Hattiesburg has no lack of places to choose from.

We’re always on the lookout for ways to make our residents’ lives better. If you’re already a resident at Breckenridge Park, we’re glad to have you. If you’re not, feel free to reach out anytime. We’d love to tell you about all we have to offer.
